About The Podcast
Built from Experience.
Told with Purpose.
I’m The Gaffer is more than a podcast—it’s a platform shaped by real-world experience and purposeful conversation. We bring together founders, CEOs, and hands-on leaders from across the construction industry to share what they’ve learned the hard way.
Whether you’re managing teams, scaling a business, or just starting out, there’s value in every story told. The podcast opens up a 360-degree view of construction—its challenges, its people, and its possibilities.
What We Do

Creating a Stronger Construction Industry
Our mission is clear: to raise industry standards by sharing lessons that matter. From on-the-tools experience to boardroom strategy, we aim to build a more informed, connected, and inspired construction community.

Meet the Host
With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Gavin Coyle has worked across high-risk, high-value projects throughout the UK, Ireland, and across the globe. As the founder and host of I’m The Gaffer, he created the podcast to make valuable insights accessible to construction people everywhere — whether they’re running sites, growing a business, or simply catching an episode from the van or on the way home.
Gavin is also the author of Workplace Safety on a Budget, where he shares practical, cost-effective approaches to safety, and runs ContractorTemplates, designed to support professionals with ready-to-use resources.
At the core of everything he does is a commitment to helping construction people work smarter, lead better, and raise awareness of improving standards in the industry—without overcomplicating what really works.
Be part of a growing network of construction leaders who bring real experience to the mic. Whether you’re leading a crew, running a company, or scaling your vision— your insights are valuable here.
Together, we’re shaping the conversations that move the industry forward.
